He began his radio career just after leaving the BBC after six very happy years with Russ Abbot as an actor. A good friend asked if he would be interested in his own radio show at Blackpool’s Radio Wave 96.5.
After a few days thinking about this new venture he decided that it was something he’d never been involved in, and so within six months of the station being built Tom was live on air with his own Sunday slot ‘The Tom Bright show’
The show was such a success that he had more listeners on a Sunday per catchment area than any other radio station in the country, including the BBC.
